PRESS STATEMENT: THE DAWN OF JUSTICE - NOT YET A BRIGHT NEW DAY!
“The view of our civil rights is quite clear. We will not be constrained by the darkness of the hour. If we do not do this, then we in America are not worthy of the words of Emma Lazarus engraved on the tablet of our Statue of Liberty. ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me. I lift my lamp before the golden door.’ Let us not allow the lamp of liberty and justice to go out on our freedom. Let us not permit the door to be closed because we failed to open up a passageway for every American to pass through. Let us finally breathe free!”
