Join the Detroit Branch NAACP as they host the 20th Annual Come to Tee Golf Tournament. During the highly anticipated tournament on August 31, 2016 corporate sponsors will be paired with local community and faith based leaders for a fun filled day of golf, great food, awards and camaraderie. The tournament will be held at the prestigious Fox Hills & Golden Fox Golf and Banquet Center that features wide sweeping fairways and huge contoured putting surfaces. Funds raised from this event will be used to fund annual Detroit-area youth participation in the Detroit Branch NAACP’s and Detroit NAACP’s Youth Council Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) Programs and the sponsoring of the Detroit NAACP Youth Council.
ACT-SO is a year-long enrichment program designed to recruit, stimulate, improve and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students. The ACT-SO Program centers around the dedication and commitment of community volunteers and business leaders to serve as mentors and coaches and to promote academic and artistic excellence among African-American students. There are 32 categories of competition in the STEM, Humanities, Business, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Culinary Arts. The Detroit Branch NAACP would like to extend an invitation to you or your organization to become a sponsor and/or participate in this worthy cause.
In 2016 the Detroit Branch NAACP and Detroit NAACP Youth Council ACT-SO Programs took eight students competing in nine categories to the National NAACP ACT-SO Competition held in Cincinnati, OH. Three of the eight students returned as National NAACP ACT-SO Winners!. Your support of Come to Tee helps us facilitate an award winning local ACT-SO Program.
